The future of food courts: upscale and seamless

Foodlife, courtesy of video on official site

Calling Foodlife at Water Tower Place a “food court” cheapens it. It is more like a trendy conglomeration of fast-er food offerings, from a stir fry station to dessert bar, a Big Bowl outpost, Southern comfort food, and unlimited soup, to name a few. (It boasts 14 different “kitchens” in all.)

When you enter, someone hands you a Foodlife credit card and seats you at one of the centrally-located tables. You take your credit card with you when you finally decide what (one or two) options will comprise your lunch, and you pay when you leave. It’s impossible to try everything you want in one go, so your first visit almost guarantees you’ll be back at least a couple more times.
