The fries and shakes (Nutella!) beat the freshly-ground patties
This is one of the few venues where I’ll tell you exactly what to order, and recommend nothing else.
Truffle fries. The French fries here are “hand-cut, twice-baked potatoes” and the truffle fries are sprinkled with parmesan and white truffle salt. Any other toppings, like gravy, chili, cheese, assorted herbs, etc. also do these potatoes justice. Why can’t everyone make French fries like Eddie?
Nutella Milkshake. This $4 beverage won a spot among TimeOut Chicago’s “Best Desserts We Ate In 2009.” And it tastes exactly as hazelnut-y and chocolate-y as you’d dream.
Charburger with everything on it. Eddie grinds his beef freshly every day, so it’s never frozen. Although it doesn’t rank among the best burgers I’ve eaten in Chicago, it is the most tender and juicy in Evanston. The Truffle Fries and Nutella Milkshake alone are worth a trip out of the city.
