Cementerio de la Recoleta

A city of tombstones rests in the middle of a bustling neighborhood

This place never ceases to amaze me. A little city of tombstones in a touristy part of Buenos Aires, it’s appreciated by locals as much as tourists. You can’t leave Buenos Aires without seeing it, especially because Eva Perón is buried here. Admission is free, unless you take a tour, which is unnecessary. It’s easy enough to find the famous tombs—people leave flowers all over them.

Bordered by Azcuénaga, Vicente López and Junín.
