Barcelona’s spectacular Catalan modernist style concert hall

Architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner (it’s just one guy) designed the Palau, which has been called the most beautiful concert hall in the world. The interior is vibrant and detailed, exemplified by the multicolored stained-glass ceiling window that filters rainbow light through the space.
Unfortunately, pictures are not allowed inside, though the beauty of the place will taunt and tempt you. (I would know; a security guard had to trail me for part of my visit). Get tickets to tour and see inside in advance, because they sell out weeks ahead. The rich, decorative façade is fascinating, too, but you definitely want to do everything you can to get inside.
