Lunch and dinner might be a little gimmicky, but FlatTop has one of the best brunches in town
This is one of the those places where every time you go, at least one table will be celebrating a birthday. It’s a fun concept — pick your raw ingredients, including vegetables, proteins, carbs and sauces, and employees whip it around on a Mongolian grill for a couple of minutes, then deliver you a steaming bowl of your concoction. There’s always that element of surprise with the first bite, because if it tastes bad you have no one to blame but yourself. (The key is to stick to a maximum of two complementary sauces.) But, the restaurant does offer combination selections if you’re wary of your combining abilities.
The best-kept secret about this place, though, is its brunch. Brunch is a spread of ingredients for create-your-own omelets and adding your own pancake ingredients. It’s slightly cheaper than dinner and, in my opinion, much more delicious.
