A bustling indoor space with everything from ice cream to Indian and of course, cheese steaks
When the Pennsylvania Convention Center across the way is in use, beware of major crowds in this place. The market is one of my favorite spots in Philly; it houses an array of vendors and is the perfect place to pick up a hot lunch or hoagie made to order and grab ingredients for dinner. I usually go for Middle Eastern, but if meat’s your thing you definitely have your options. (Carmen’s Famous Italian Hoagies & Cheesesteaks generally has a substantial line.) Eat right at the spot where you order — must places have bars for seating — or at tables in the center of the market. My dad also likes the cookies at Famous 4th St. Cookie Co., though I have yet to try one myself.
