An urban art project of larger-than-life mosaics that really seems magical
I am not exaggerating when I say this is perhaps the coolest place I’ve ever been. The “gardens” are a half city block of formerly derelict space — part indoor, part out — completely covered in whimsical mosaic murals by Philadelphia artist Isaiah Zagar. Bits of mirror, tiles, sculptures from South America, bike wheels and bottles (mostly donated) comprise the mosaics, which are so detailed and extensive you almost feel as though you’re in a parallel — magical — place. The intricacy, color and beauty is breathtaking; I wanted to stay forever the first time I visited.
