Block Museum of Art

Free admission to exhibits and movie screenings on the Northwestern University campus

The single most wonderful thing about the Mary and Leigh Block Museum of Art is that because it’s subsidized by Northwestern University, it’s free to everyone — not just students but all who find a parking spot in a non-university lot.

Exhibits range from quilts made by Northwestern’s own African American Studies professor Tracy Vaughn to collections of the Bloomsbury artists’ works. Another major component is the Block Cinema, which screens various documentaries and more recent films. The lecture series is also worth looking into for those interested in gallery talks (free) and workshops (usually around $10).
